Applications

The Foundation contributes to Swiss researchers or foreign scientists working in Switzerland. Individuals who apply should be addressing innovative problems and should have the essential theoretical and methodical background knowledge. Financial contributions are authorized for experimental and clinical surveys as well as for basic inquiries. They are normally granted for a period of one year according to the guidelines of the Swiss National Science Foundation for Fellowships for prospective and advanced researchers working partime (50%). Applications for funding parts of a larger research project can only be approved, if the project can be fully financed.

Ethical approval to conduct the study has to be obtained from the Ethical Committee in charge, before payment of the SFEFS will be effected.

The Foundation also supports continuing education of scientists at home or abroad to learn new methods or specific techniques. Furthermore, the Foundation contributes to publication costs to disseminate important new scientific knowledge.

Individuals receiving funds commit themselves to cooperation with the Foundation.
